Commander Volke Gottawald, "Ace of Spades" as he is known by his subordinates, commands the Shield Wall of Arlington. Upon retaking his home, the city-state of Arlington, the Commander established The Shield Wall around the newly annexed area. The city-state has become a military hotspot for the Empire, and an asset to the people. The Shield Wall is comprised of Gottwald's Fleet: "Prince High Black". The fleet is headed by the Aeolus, the ship that was instrumental in the annexation of several territories now under RFE rule.

History in the Empire[]
Gottwald was originally born outside RFE rule, in Arlington. Rising through the ranks, he formerly commanded their military, but was exiled by the city-state for destruction of allied ships inhibiting his fleet's progress. Gottwald quickly joined the Red Fork Empire, with a fascination in RFE aeronautics. Rising as the Captain of the Full Colors, the Commander eventually recieved enough recognition to be put in command of the Fleet: "Prince High Black".
Following his appointment, Gottwald led his fleet in the claiming of Arlington. In response to his outstanding victory over his former comrades, he recieved the Medal of Crimson Retribution. The Commander's efforts to stabilize the area following it's annexxation earned his appointment as Governor, symbolized by the Lion's Heart of Golden Governance.
Fleet[]
The flagship of Gottwald's fleet is known as the Aeolus, a Demigod-Class airship. The ship is home to many of the fleet's fighter squadrons, including Gottwald's former squadron, the Full Colors. The fleet itself is know as Fleet Prince High Black, borrowing on the nicknames of the fleet's ship captains. The captains are nicknamed after cards of the black suits in a deck of playing cards. Gottwald himself is known as "Ace of Spades", and his second in command as "Ace of Clubs". Fleet Prince High Black is a host to 20 Warships, a quarter of them Demigod-Class. The fleet is also host to dozens of fighters, of varying class. These ships are in one of two wings, Spades or Clubs, with the Spades being more offense oriented of the two. These wings together form the Shield Wall of Arlington. The wall guards the city-state from any attempts to reclaim the area by the former government, as well as other outside attack.
